FAQs
Do you have a minimum number of invitations required? I love working with weddings of any size! Your pricing of course depends on the number of save the dates and/or invitation suites you need, but our design fee is the same for any custom project regardless of the size.
What is the average investment for an invitation suite? Because custom stationery is fully unique to each client, pricing can vary widely based on many factors, including the number of suites needed, the desired printing method, and the embellishments selected. The average Iris Designs couple spends around $3,000 on their custom invitation suite and around $1,000 on their day-of stationery and signage.
How far in advance should we book? If you're interested in save the dates, I recommend booking at least 9-12+ months out from your wedding. For invitation suites, it's best to book at least 6-8 months before your wedding. For day-of stationery, reach out at least 4 months in advance. That being said, I only take on a few weddings each month in order to make sure each client gets my full attention, creativity, and support throughout the process, so I always recommend reaching out as early as possible to ensure your date gets reserved my our calendar!
What does the custom design process look like? How can we give our input/feedback? Once you book, you'll receive a questionnaire from me with all kinds of questions about the two of you, your wedding style, your stationery vision, your wording preferences, etc. so I can use all of this information to start creating designs that capture your love story and wedding aesthetic. We can also discuss your vision on a call if desired—it's up to you! When your first round of designs is ready, you'll receive an email with a link to view them. On the same page, there will be areas for you to provide your feedback on which designs you prefer, the specific aspects you like and don't like, and more. Once I make adjustments to your designs based on your feedback, you'll receive a new link where you can view the updated designs and provide more feedback—and this will repeat until we've reached a final design you love! This process makes it super easy and organized for you to view each round of your designs and share your thoughts with me.
How will we see what our stationery looks like before it goes to print? While we're unable to provide physical samples of your exact paper goods before they go into production, we use extremely realistic digital mockups to give you an idea of what each component of your stationery will look like and how everything will look together in your suite. You'll also receive a sample kit full of past work and examples of different ribbons, paper colors, wax seals, and more so that you can get an idea of some of the colors and textures in person as we begin the design process!
